I think the pictures of this amazing place will definitely speak for itself so I'll let the pictures do the talking..........

Driving towards the Blue Lagoon, you may just see the billow of smoke in front of the mountain to the centre of the picture, there was an awesome mist this particular morning, you felt like you were driving into the clouds themselves

Now you can see the smoke from the Blue Lagoon.............maybe you can feel our excitement too at this point................

Don't you just love the beauty of the lava ground landscape of Iceland

Me and my gorgeous Icelandic family, you don't even want to hear how my brother moaned about having to pose in the "tourist spot' LOL

As you know we are off on holiday tomorrow to Iceland YAY!!!!!!!!!!

TJ my soon to be 16 year old has had me splitting my sides in laughter all evening, he is that excited about the trip and seeing everyone that he packed his case this evening and has been dragging it by the handle onto its wheels all night, even when walking to the fridge to get a drink!!!! every so often he has used it to sit on instead of sitting in the chair, at one point I saw his feet up on the sofa and thought Whoa, he's actually put his case down, so I walked into the loung, to see him sat with his case on his lap!!!!! LOL Someone is very excited!!!!! Daniel is just as hyped too!!

Slight disappointment in the fact that we arrive far too late to see my nephew and niece but can you imagine how much fun waking up on Sunday morning is going to be

I spoke to my sister in law tonight and I'm not sure who is the most excited, her or me LOL

Its been far too long, I haven't seen them since August last year and how I miss them!!!!!!!!!!

As you know my brother and I weren't close for many years, not either of our faults, but some jerk was definitely stirring the pot, so I treasure every moment with my brother now. I love and adore the whole family but I have to say there is that part of me that is more excited about seeing my brother than anything else. Even though Mum will tell you we tend to revert to being playful kids all over again, but thats a good thing isn't it..................its good to laugh!!!!!

The boys have broken up for their half term holidays today so they too are getting pretty excited.................actually truth be told, they are bouncing off the walls with excitement...................oh who am I kidding ..............I'm bouncing along with them

It was with high expectations I had been so looking forward to the evening, I had believed the propoganda, drawn into the excitement of promoting my favourite and asking others to vote too, I had believed in the voting, liased with the organisers getting their assurance that our party would be seated together on our VIP table, provided all guest names for their lists, the evening itself was going to be the icing on the cake, an enjoyable experience of watching a professional awards show up close not through the vision of a TV screen, so to say I was disappointed by the reality of the evening, is a complete understatement.

I was expecting to be greeted at the door by steards with the guest list, we would give our names, they would check us off see us listed as VIP guests and produce our VIP guest passes..... what I wasn't expecting was to see someone in the Hotel entrance hall handing out a small red card with the letters VIP emblazoned on it, to anyone who requested one!

I was expecting to be told from the guest list the number of our table so we could walk into the auditorium and take our seats...... what I wasn't expecting was to walk into the dining area, be handed a goodie bag and told to sit where we liked! Even producing paperwork that our VIP table was booked and we would be able to sit as a group, held no weight at all, we were just told the VIP tables were at the front, unsurprisingly, all tables were already occupied, so our options were to sit spread out on various tables, or take a table at the back. Naturally wanting to all sit together, we settled for a table at the back, still at this point determined to enjoy the evening and take our complaint up with the appropriate people on Monday.

I was expecting a delicious meal to the high quality and standard of Hilton I hadn't eaten all day so was at this point positively salivating at the prospect of an impressive menu......what I wasn't expecting was a meagre chunk of chicken in a red wine sauce on a bed of chopped potatoes with random roasted aubergines or I think thats what they were!! There was no starters, no dessert!!!! How can that be ??? Isn't the promise of a meal automatically assumed to be incuding a starter, main course and a dessert, or at the very least a main course and a dessert. I have to say I felt hugely let down by the meal itself, it was certainly not the tasty haute cuisine I had anticipated of the Hilton. Even drinks had to be bought only tap water came with the ticket!!!

I was expecting a well choreographed awards evening...........I was not expecting a complete shambles. At one point I even whispered to a friend, "Do you think they have cameras hidden and someone is going to burst on stage in a moment and scream.... You've all been framed!!"

The sound wasn't right for a start, you couldn't hear a word at first that the presenters were saying, a young girl was announced to come on stage and sing, she sang two songs and she had a fantastic voice, but the second song was disappointing, not because of her voice but the lyrics were the same half a dozen words repeatedly. We were then told to welcome another singer, she strutted onto the stage, but It was a terrible act of lip synching!!!!!!!!! On a show???

The first award started, the nominees were read out ....."The winner is..........." but what we got instead was "Anyone know who the winner is? I don't have it?" With much embarrassment, the two hosts tried to ad lib through the big mess, eventually they announced they needed a 10 minute break to work out who the winner was!!!!!!!!

Just how difficult is it to print off a list of results from a computer generated voting poll that ended 5 days previously!!!
Something was very wrong
Negligence and Farce were screaming loud and clear

The 10 minutes stretched, to half an hour, Finally it started up again but for the first maybe 10 awards, we only saw 1 winner actually claim the award all others were absent. There was also a significant pattern happening with the winners. The nominees who had the huge followings were not winning, what had happened with all their votes? Instead all winners had a connection to the organiser. it seemed clear that the winners mostly had been chosen by association not the voting we were all led to believe.
I don't believe for one minute that the voting system I asked you all to partake in was genuine, I am deeply sorry for that. I was taken in by their publicity too.

AJ whispered to me, "Not to worry, we were not going to win, it wasn't and never had been about the votes" I felt a complete fraud and traitor as I sat there, feellng totally sick and praying that he definitely WOULDN'T win!!! I wanted as much distance between his genuine talents and this farcical event as possible.

The names of the nominees were now starting to appear on a screen behind the presenters, however, on some categories some of the nominees names were missing!!! How this had quickly turned into a ceremony of public humiliation for all those nominated. Were you to now be grateful that they remembered your name and added it to the list or were you to feel relieved that you could slink away unnoticed and unassociated with this ridiculous event

On our category, the name of the winner was read out, but their name wasn't on the screen!! A shouting session started as the confusion kicked in between hosts, who wanted to re do the whole award and present it to someone from the list on the screen and supporters of the one who's name had been called insisting he was a legitimate winner.
This eventual winner however was pleasant and gracious in recognising both AJ and another fellow designer for their wonderful legacy of work they have done over time.

Disappointed by all we had seen during the evening, we left early. Its not that I went there expecting AJ to be the winner, in my eyes, he already is a winner in every sense and need no awards to prove it, but I did go there thinking I was attending a fair competition and well organised evening. All reaction I give now, just looks like sour grapes on my part

I do believe in the words o " ......for them that honour me I will honour....." I know that the person I choose to respect, admire and support with every breath and vocal ability I have Honours God with every day of his life he will have greater awards than this earth can ever give him, I believe God will honour him with earthly awards in the future but I also believe it was in God's Will that he was not associated with the unhonourable title of being award winner of this event.

I went last night expecting a fun, glamorous, pleasurable and professional evening, I still had a fun night, after all an evening in the company of friends is always what you make it yourselves, but I wasn't expecting to end the night feeling completely heartbroken and devastated at the unfairness of our work being invalid

But what grieves me the most is hearing the pain he feels that after so many people, did so much for him now he is deeply concerned about everyone else's effort and feelings, but that just shows the depth of the man he is. He isn't worried or upset for himself, he is more concerned about the feelings of everyone else.

Still want to thank you all immensely for voting, you did a wonderful job and please don't feel that your vote was a waste of time, instead think of your vote as a way of showing a man of deep integrity, great talent, true respect and all round genuine "niceness" just how well liked and appreciated he is. Because I can assure you over the weeks of campaigning that is certainly the message he received. He was completely bowled over by the support and well wishes you all sent his way

Thankyou so much Everyone
We still did a great and fabulous job!!!

I did get some great pictures too, some even by a REAL photographer......WOW !!!!!

I'll post them when he emails them to me, but for now here is a quick one of myself all dressed up for the occasion

I'll start with mine first, not because its more important but because I know a lot of members will realise how big this is to me.

Yesterday whilst driving to work, I saw am ambulance coming towards me, immediately I recognised the driver..............Yes it was him, the ex husband, I haven't seen him for at least a couple of years now, last time I saw him I had a panic attack just because I recognised him in the rear view mirror, plus all those times at court where my dad had to come with me, my solicitor seeing we were in separate rooms so I wouldn't have to see him, dad walking me to the court room, knowing the solicitor had assured him that he would stand between myself and the ex at all times and he would not be allowed to speak to me.....................

Anyway, as I was saying, I recognised him, I put a big smile on my face, drove ahead not even looking towards the ambulance, only noticing the double take from him as he recognised me...............I felt nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not a flicker!!!!!!!!!!!

Now please don't think I was looking for a flicker of emotion!!!!!!!! LOL I came to terms a long time ago with the fact that I NEVER loved him, I was drawn in like a fly in a spiders web, now what greatly pleased me about feeling nothing was that I felt NO FEAR, NO NERVES, NO TREPIDATION NO NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was a stranger!!!!!!!!!

D you know how long I have waited to feel safe if I ever crossed his path!!!!!! Now I know if I did see him in the street I would have the courage to keep walking, because I KNOW he can no longer hurt me, he is NOTHING to me

Now Thomas, ironically this is also to do with his father, I had an email from him a couple of weeks ago asking me to ask if Thomas still wanted to sell his drum kit.............I'm sure some of you will remember from a long time ago, the trouble we have had over this drum kit!!!! I asked Thomas for an answer, he asked me to forward the email to him as he wanted to deal with it!! I duly did so, he wrote back, "Of course I want to sell it, thats why you had it in the first place, you told me you had a buyer years ago!!!"

Thomas had a reply that he had a buyer interested and so would go ahead with the sale

Next Thomas had an email asking if he would like to meet his dad so his dad could give him the money from the sale, Thomas said No thanks, put it in mums account and she will give me the cash. Thomas's cash was paid in so last weekend I drew the money out and we went shopping. Thomas had a wonderful time, he bought himself some trendy new trainers, a coat, 2 t shirts and 2 pairs of jeans, he was thrilled with himself and his purchases

Me, I was just so proud of by boy turning before my eyes into a young man

Finally, my boy Daniel!!!

After the disastrous few weeks we have had, believe me its still not easy, yesterday he came home with a letter saying he had a minor head injury, after someone thought it funny to swipe his chair as he went to sit down,, not a friendly prank but a malicious one !!! Grrrr

Today, Daniel has come home from school literally glowing

He put his name down as form captain, he had to make a speech and answer questions from the rest of the form and

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was elected as Form Captain

Thankfully all his friends are in his form, if he could have lessons with his form he would be fine, however, lessons are now in sets so he is separated from his friends most of the day during lessons

But I do know this is one GIANT leap of confidence for him

I am so proud of my little shining star

Today I wrote to the final person on Ade's old facebook page who was one of his friends!!!!!!!!!!

On my maths I have contacted via facebook messages, over 3,000 people!!!!!!!!!

I am so proud of myself that I was able to not only stick to it, but also that I completed the task with a few days to go before voting closes!!!

I am going to be so nervous in the few days between voting being closed and the big announcement, did I do enough, is there anything I should have done differently etc etc

I have also managed to get several big online organisations to promote him, for instance look at these links.............

mynaijanews.com

fashionafrica

modernghana

nigeriansintheuk.co.uk

This is just a few, its been amazing!!!!!!

Other things are that Daniel is slowly finding things easier, we have some great days, some good days but some bad days too, yesterday he was understandably distressed after being spat at!!! Who wouldn't find that upsetting!!!

He is coping better though, I still get the tears at times and the sadness but I also can now see an inner strength that wasn't there before. He diligently repeats every morning before school the words that Ade's Pastor gave him, and I'm thrilled with how more positive he is when he says them

This is what he says

God didn't give me a Spirit of Fear

But a Spirit of Power, a Spirit of Love and a Sound Mind from God!!!

The bit he loves to say is "Sound Mind from God!!!!"

Thomas is doing well, working hard, he is in Year 11 now so no time to mess around, he is currently viewing all options for when he leaves school in June, one of his favourites at the moment is the RAF as an Aviation Mechanic, he isn't sure yet whether to join as a 16 year old apprentice or on the recommendation of my cousin also in the RAF to go to college and Uni and enter as an officer. We're going to a RAF Careers advice centre for more information

Busy times LOL

Whoa............

Where did that week go?????

Lately I think the world is going on without me LOL, I am seeing nothing but a busy computer screen with links, letters, and tabs open everywhere!! Still loving it though I wake at about 6.45 in between organising the boys for school, having my wake up cuppa whilst at the same time setting up all my computer tabs for the "Great Campaign" I manage to spend a couple of hours at the computer, with my endless morning cups of tea, as I start sending the letters, checking online news updates, researching blogs, keeping a cautious eye on the "others" before my morning study, showering, tidying up.............. A quick check of the time as I make sure I won't be late for work and whatever few minutes I still have left, I am back on the computer.

I arrive at Mums sometime early afternoon for the short 45 mins I have between work and collecting the boys from school where bless her..............she tops me up with tea and toast as I then take over her computer, re open all my tabs and start again!!!

All too quickly its time to collect the boys from school we drop off the other lads in the car pool, race home, all three of us wrestling for computer time, I usually win by insisting the boys change out of their uniform and arrange their homework, but once all my tabs are once again open, I do relent and let them have their time on the computer, as long as I can pop on every few minutes to send a few more letters in between fixing the evening meal.

Facebook and I have become mortal enemies!!!!!!!!!! Ade has had hackers take over his original account which means he cant access his friends as readily as normal, so I am working through his list of friends, currently standing at 3,000 updating them all on the campaign and re directing them to the groups running to support him. Facebook think I am spamming, I can see why, but I'm not I'm writing to his friends who he can't because he is locked out of his account............facebook have had 6 weeks or so to lock the account or secure his page again and have done nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!! So every few letters I get a warning to stop spamming!!!!!!!!!! GRRRRR Its so NOT spamming if I have redirecting his friends to his new page so they stop sending support messages on a wall he can't see!!!!!!!!!! I have sent out over 1500 letters in the last few weeks Phew!!!!! But its all good!!! I'm honestly enjoying it!!! I have also been posting links and messages all over facebook and twice had the ability to write on walls frozen because of excess activity, actually I find it quite funny !!!! Who would have thought I could be a rebel LOL

After dinner, I allow the boys more computer time as I do my evening 20 minute running session, by the time the clearing up is done, some time with the boys, its coming up to bedtime for Daniel at least I can usually reclaim the computer again and I am then sat at the screen till sometimes 2am if I lose all track of time. There are times when I have written his name so many times in succession that I have to slowly keep spelling it out as it no longer looks correct.............My eyes are playing big tricks on me I guess!!!

On top of all that, I am constantly on the phone to him, updating and checking things, epecially if something big happens, for instance we have managed to get several online news magazines to run our promotions, which is great..........then I make a mistake Last night I was really upset to discover that I had written to the wrong person. Ade has been great allowing me a pretty free rein with the work I have done but gave me two names he didnt want me to write to from the 3,000 as they were linked to other designers in his category, I have been vigilant in making sure I didn't miss their names, however, I had written one of the names wrongly...............by chance last night I realised my mistake and I had already written to one of them I was so gutted as I felt I had really let him down. I rang straight away, as expected he was lovely, kind and gentle, telling me reassuringly not to worry, mistakes happen, I'm guessing he could tell I was really upset, I was almost in tears and Mum will tell you I rarely give in to tears!!!................but I am worried!!!! I wanted to do this most perfect job and I know this was a big mistake. I'm so angry with myself!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only 10 days to go and the voting will be closed!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited yet at the same time terrified!!!!!!!!!!! Still, a lot can be done in ten days, I'll keep shouting!!!!!!!!!! I have a big mouth, I'm sure there are a lot more that will hear me and place their votes yet

And.......................why am I busted?????????????????

Chatting on the phone yesterday, Ade told me he had put a search engine on B E F F T A news and guess what he found...............my blog regarding Sunday!!!!!!!!! So he read it I was saying how embarrassing, so you know about my poor feet...............yes he did!!!!!! But fortunately he also thought it was a great blog and showed it to several of his church friends and the Pastor to show them just how much the boys and I loved the church

Its a good job I have nothing but good to say about him!!!!!!! LOL

xxx

Please if you haven't voted already, could you place a vote for him..............pretty pretty please

Serves me right, I went to London yesterday with heels on!!!!!!!!

Seriously, never walk around London all day with heels on because that burn feeling in the ball of the foot.......................

The boys and I left for London early yesterday morning, as arranged we were going to my friend the fashion designer's church, the Pastor was going to spend time with Daniel and lift his spirit, retraining his thinking into being able to bounce off the bad comments and not let them take root in his head and start believing the negative things being said to him at school.

He gave us instructions knowing that I always park in Hammersmith then tube my way across London, only the church wasn't on a tube route so it meant car-tube-bus, so I checked on the route and decided to drive all the way with my sat nav. It was such fun driving through the centre of London but we drove straight there, of course did do one thing silly..................the sat nav told me I had reached my destination but I couldn't see it??????????? so I rang my friend and said "We're here, I drove all the way, he was amazed and said he wasn't there as he had been waiting for me to call and was going to meet us and travel with us !! He did laugh when I told him I couldn't find the building..........I was literally stood at the door!!!!! Oops

The boys and I decided to go on into the church and wait outside at the back...................That didn't work out either. We walked into the church and everyone met us with big smiles and greetings, it was awesome, we felt like stars!!!!! One of the lady ushers took us straight to the front, I told her we were meeting Adebayo and she told us it was fine she would show him where we were. We took our seats, its an African church so they don't run to time as we would its much more informal and relaxed, the service started and a few minutes later in walks the Pastor, he sat in front of us and then loudly welcomes us, over the volume of those singing..............He was really sweet and kind, a few minutes later Daniel excitedly and "loudly" whispers "He's here!!!" In walks Adebayo, big smile as always across his face rushes right up and gives all three of us hugs, after all the hussle the service started.

At the end of the service, the Pastor asked if anyone was there for the first time................meekly and discreetly I raise my hand, oh my word.........the Pastor immediately, sees, huge big grin on his face and calls us to the front!!!!!!!!!! Adebayo was laughing and I growled at him "I don't go to the front!!!!!!!!!!!" but he just laughed and stood aside so we could pass him. Traitor!!!! At the front the Pastor gives us an amazing welcome, that we were special guests and he wanted everyone to come and greet us at the end and welcome us fully. Still at the front he asked us questions, asking the boys which football team they support, Daniel said "West Ham" the Pastor laughed and said they needed to pick up their game this season, he asked Thomas who he supported and Thomas also said "West Ham" the Pastor suggested they follow a team that wins sometimes!!!! He then proudly stated he followed Chelsea.....................my normally quiet and shy Thomas just looked and stated "Really? 3-1!!!" referring to the fact that Chelsea had lost Saturday 3-1!!!!!! The Pastor and the rest of the church burst out laughing it was so funny

At the end of the service it was like a wedding line up, everyone came to shake our hand and welcome us, some that I had met on previous visits to Adebayo came and gave me a big hug too which was lovely, I had told Daniel that the Pastor was happy to see Daniel but to remember he was a busy man so it may only be 5 minutes, Daniel was fine, he was just so glad that the Pastor was going to talk and pray with him that he didn't care how short the time was.........................an hour later, the Pastor was still with us!!!!!!!!!!! He was simply amazing!!!!!! Daniel was literally shining with confidence and pleasure.

There was also a lunch at the church, so as we were talking to the Pastor they had servers giving us plates of gorgeous West African food, cans of coke etc, Daniel was a bit fussy and the Pastor noticed Daniel was playing with his food, asking if he didn't like it? Daniel told him apologetically it was a bit too spicy so the Pastor called someone over and told the guy to go to the shop and buy this special young man a snack from the shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!

After our long talk, we still stayed chatting, I found myself chatting to a group of African children at the back, everyone was laughing affectionately as they were climbing all over me and saying "Will you come to my house?? I love your hair its so soft, Can I see your hands again??" So funny.

Finally we all left I didnt turn on the Sat Nav as Ade was supposed to be directing me around London..................yea right we were chatting so much he kept saying "Oh sorry we were meant to go down there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"It was just hysterical!!!

All too soon we had to say Goodbye as the boys had school the next day and Daniel still had homework.

Later last night, I rang him to say we were home ok and what a great day we had had, I was laughing with him about the children, he told me that the little girl who was on my lap most of the time, had been born with a defect, needing a heart transplant to save her, for three months her little life hung in the balance, finally a match became available, her parents were told though that this little girl would never live an active life, she would likely be a vegetable..................the church had been praying for months and were adamant that wouldn't happen, That little girl yesterday aged 3 now, looked perfectly normal to me, running, laughing, talking and very cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life is just so busy right now!!!

I am so busy with my campaign to help my friend win his award nomination for Best Male Designer, I have even had promotional articles written in several African newspapers, its just so fun to wake up to an email saying they have printed what you asked them to. He himself is just simply amazed, he is so lovely, I keep telling him its easy to promote someone who is the real deal, I have had so many people email me and say they google searched him for themselves and its true what I am saying, the media love him, the models love him (which is apparently rare, usually the models have bad things to say about the designers and their attitude but not him,) his peers love him and the world loves his designs, I just know he is destined for even greater things.

If anyone is prepared to add their votes and they haven't voted yet please do.............

www.beffta.com/voting.htm

BEST MALE DESIGNER (20th on the list of categories)

ADEBAYO JONES (2nd on the list of nominees)

Thanks so much, I'm really grateful

Life is meant to be easy isn't it....................

Thomas: Well, he is back to school today, he is not allowed to join in with the sports or do anything too strenuous but he is mobile again, no major side effects and although still taking pain killers, it is certainly not as bad as it was................thankfully

Daniel: After sending another email last night to his form tutor as well as a copy to the head teacher of the school, I have had quite a bit of feedback today.

Firstly I had an email early this morning from his form teacher saying she was upset to read my mail ..................... Hmmmmmm she was upset!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Told me she was going to talk to Daniel again today I later had another mail saying she had passed my emails on to the teacher in charge of pastoral care So????????? Not really action is it!!!!!!!!!!!! Then finally she told me she had sat in on two of Daniels lessons today to observe for herself......................and she sees for herself there is a problem I don't mean to be funny.................but I already KNEW that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However, it seems that if the school witnesses things for itself, they can step in and be more effective as there is no comeback for Daniel, he won't look like "someone crying home to Mummy......" not that that should make any difference at all but if it means the school are actually going to sort something then I'm happy

This evening I had a phone call from the Head Teacher asking if I was satisfied with the way the school is handling it?????????

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

To be fair, I did say that I was relieved that Daniels teacher had followed up on her promise and had sat in on the lessons and spoken to Daniel. I was glad to report that the pastoral care teacher had already spoken to Daniel briefly today and was following up tomorrow, I was thrilled that Daniel left school with a smile on his face too this afternoon. The Head teacher told me he was going to catch up with Daniel tomorrow at school ask him what the school could do to help him and then the Head is going to keep me updated via phone/email

I'm happy to take a back seat if the school are sorting things, but if Daniel comes home feeling upset or let down one more time...........I don't care what the teacher says...............I will be talking face to face not phone/computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For tonight it was just thrilling to see Daniel smiling again

The campaign: I am so busy with this campaign to see ADEBAYO JONES win the BEFFTA award as Best Male Designer, I am just loving it, I'm writing to online magazines and online newspapers all over the world, predominantly African and they are writing back and even printing my announcements and pleas for votes

I have been taking a major role in a flyer that is circulating the internet as well as promoting a promotional video which I'll try and paste here. I'm just so happy with this campaign. Ade himself is stunned at the support he is getting, he just can't believe so many people are voting for him

www.youtube.com/watch

And the kind of man I asked you to vote for.......................

He is that upset about Daniel being bullied, because he thinks Daniel is too young and too special to be going through this, he asked my permission to set up an appointment with his Pastor, he thinks it would be great for himself and I to take Daniel to meet this Pastor for prayer and empowering talk on self esteem and confidence issues to rebuild Daniel. He said he can't hear what Daniel is going through and not do something to help. I told Daniel tonight and he was thrilled, he adores Ade anyway because the first time they met, he told Daniel that he saw star potential in him!!!!!!!!
