Two things you could try. Firstly, try ringing Tresillian or Karatane and see if they have any advice about it being a 'phase' and what you could do without further intervention. Secondly, when I had a similar problem with my son sixteen years ago, I was able to go to the pharmacy and get a product called Phenergan - it probably saved my son's (or my own) life. Nowadays though, you have to go to a Dr to get a prescription for this concoction. It is for short-term use only and will help bubs to establish a proper sleep routine once you have discounted everything else like teething. It may help with the two-hourly wakeups if you feel it is a comfort feed rather than being hungry. Another product that you can get with the Pharmacists approval is some sort of anti-histamine - they will advise the most appropriate for your situation. The thing to remember with this though is that these products could be HABIT FORMING and so should be used with extreme caution.

Also, I swear by Bonjela as a teething aid.

I notive you are in Adelaide.  have you tried the Women's and Children's teething gel- you can get it from the hospital pharmacy off Kermode st for $7.  this is the best teething gel available.  Try some panadol for night time settling and see if you can all get some sleep.

also after/during teething, some babies can get into bad habits of waking and not settling unless fed, this can continue after the teething has finished.  While he is teething you can still breastfeed to settle (this is what I did) but then make sure you are not getting into bad sleep habits once the teething is over.
