Hi Rosario, I was just about to message you saying he is staying at his friends house and it has something to do with drugs but I just read your other message which already validates this. Do you know which one of his friends has the mother who smokes dope on a regular basis? She's a very skinny woman with bushy, curly hair. The house will be a smallish house maybe a broken down car in the driveway, not very furnished (ie mattresses just thrown on floors, not much food in the cupboard). It's a place he and his friends go to regularly.

I think this is something he will grow out of; right now it's a cool thing to do in his mind but what he doesn't realise is that if he stopped taking the drugs these "friends" of his won't want anything to do with him. They just hang around each other because they have something in common; drugs. I feel like he will come home soon as he will learn it isn't as great as he thought it was. He comes from a family where his mother cares about where he is, makes sure he has a warm bed to sleep in, hot meals on the dinner table, luxeries such as playing computer games that he is taking for granted right now. The place he is staying at (because of their drug use) will become quite dirty, lack of food in the house, he'll come to see that these people really don't have any ambition in life other than where to score the drugs from next. That his friends will start wearing the same old clothes, start to smell and this will give him the reality check he needs.

Can I suggest something? When he comes home help him find a part time job. Once he has some work and earns a bit of money, he will learn the value of the dollar and mature. He won't be one of those people who would waste their money on drugs; I feel like he is just taking it at the moment because it being offered to him; it's free or other people are buying it for him.

I hope I am right but I think this is a situation he is going to have to learn on his own. I know you love him dearly, want him to come home and straighten up. But sometimes kids have to go down crappy roads which scare the hell out of parents to become a better person and learn their lesson well.
