Good luck - I know how you feel as my bubba was 11 weeks prem and I don't want him to go on formula for now if I can help it - it's very distressing when your supply dwindles and that probably doesn't help us to relax either

Jedd is proof positive that you road will end one day. He was just like that as a baby. He could power puke across a room as well. If you look at my home page I have a link to Jedd's Caring Bridge site that will tell you how well Jedd is doing. It will give you hope, you should read it for sure.

He went from Severe GERD and 100% tube fed due to the pain from his Reflux to completely oral now. He still doesn't eat properly, but he is going MUCH better.

He also feel below the 5%tile and we have worked him up now to about the 50%tile. That's hard work.

Have you had her checked for Pyloric Stenosis?? If not, I would soon. They need to do an Upper GI series to tell if the pyloris is too tight. They can also add in an ultra sound of her belly too, to get a look at it.

If her pyloris is too tight, then it will delay the emptying even further.

Pyloric Stenosis is normally in first born males, but girls *can* get it as well. I know a girl who had it and had it repaired.

I will say that Bm is THE BEST for babies, it really is. Esp babies who have GI isssues. It is the easiest to pass through their systems. You would have to be BIG on elemination diet in order to do BM but it may be worth it. With all those issues, you just may not be able to. Don't feel bad. I know many Mothers who wanted to BF and ended up not being able to due to their child's medical issues. I'm one of them.

PLEASE please, join this website. It's free and we can give you ALOT of help. Don't be overwhelmed by the number of parents who ended up tube feeding their child. We can offer support and help to Parents of ALL kids who have had GERD and GI issues. These Parents have literally helped us to save our son's life when it came to medical information to make the best decisions for our son and his medical needs. They are Mothers who have BTDT.

www.parent-2-parent.com

My screen name there is *Jessica*. You will find me all over their boads giving out help to all the Mothers.

Are you in the US and what sea board are you on, the East or West Coast?? Based on that I can give you the locations and names of the BEST Peds GI hospitals. Even though you might think you're hospital you are going to now is doing a fine job, kids with complex medical issues (like vomitting blood) need to be seen by a Major Child's Hospital. They are more suited to these issues.

thanks mom2jedd
Josephine will be 5 months next Thursday, and in the last 5months we've spent 3.5 of them in hospital with her due to constant vomiting to the point where she vomits blood.
Josephine suffers from:
an over sized Esophagus - which might need surgery to fix.
her esophagus stomach and intestine aren't able to relax while feeding

Josephine will be 5 months next Thursday, and in the last 5months we've spent 3.5 of them in hospital with her due to constant vomiting to the point where she vomits blood.

Josephine suffers from:

an over sized Esophagus - which might need surgery to fix.
her esophagus stomach and intestine aren't able to relax while feeding
she has Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux
and failure to thrive

we've only just found out most of this in the last month. her weight is in the 15th percentile for her age, she's been put on the Elecare due to all of this, and her pediatrician wants her to still be breastfeed as he feels its is still doing her some good. he has also put her onto Dicyclomine to help relax her esophagus stomach and intestine, she has to have this before every feed.

Josephine is able to empty her entire stomach contents back into her esophagus and vomit 1meter away. so at moment i/we are doing everything that her pediatrician says. she is a baby that is rarely happy she crys most of the day and when she isn't crying she is vomiting.

How is Jedd doing now?

Why are you using Elecare?
I only ask because Jedd had LOTS of GI issues and Elecare is for kids with severe allergies or GI disorders called EE or EOS. It is the number one broken down formula and the number one formula for allergy kiddos.

So, if you are put on it due to one of those issues, I'm sorry, but I would not continue to Breast feed. I just wouldn't. the risk to causing GI damage would be too great.

You can minti mail me and I will send you the link to a support sight for kids with GI issues.
