And other times he tells me he doesnt want daddy to see him (naked). We are certainly very used to seeing one another naked in the family since we do bathe together too! I think this self-conscious thingy (not just over nakedness) is getting a bit over him and thus making him a bit out of control emotionally and driving me nuts. Sometimes he gets cranky over this but other times he gets cheeky about it. Talk about PMS in women...children are mysterious too...

The way your son is reacting seems a little strange to me.
My eldest is 5 1/2 and continues to run around the house naked as long as it's just me, my husband and his siblings at home. If we have visitors he is definitely exhibiting signs of not wanting others to see him naked.

This is what it sounds like to me: Your son is becoming self-aware which means he may be learning the feeling and experience of embarrassment. If this is the case and he already feels embarrassed about something, sticking around to insist it's okay may be even more embarrassing for him (as he's too embarrassed as it is to listen to what you're saying - he's concentrating on how he feels) and so he then becomes angry at you. I know it sounds so silly from an adult prospective that a dog would be watching him but it's completely normal for his age. At almost 4 years of age children still think that OBJECTS are aware of consciousness depending on their cognitive development. So it's completely normal for your son to think that the dog is watching him run to his room half-naked and become embarrassed about it.
