hi i have heard that if let teeth stay in rotten can cause the adult teeth to rot under the gum and come through rotten too haven't heard of pulling the teeth early causing bunny teeth before id go back and check with dentist if that is a possibility if it is braces can fix bunny teeth but would need dentures if adult teeth come through rotten

have heard very common on kids going to bed with bottle but only just had similiar conversation with another mum at school her son has the problem because poor enamel on his teeth apparently something both her brothers had too and means that he will soon need all front teeth pulled out.

if it is the bottle you must stop it because it can affect their speech too ive also heard can also affect the adult teeth as well as can cause them to start to rot before even coming through.

my daughter never took a bottle as refused it but once she was one two she took to taking a cup of water to bed at night can try this for a bit but by the time she was three started taking it away told her she was too big for it and it was making her not have dry nights not that she is having dry nights now still wetting bed at five but found the cup was one reasons waking at night just to have it when she stirred a bit so found easier to get her sleep all night without it....

What if you give your child's bottle before going to bed? This way he finishes his milk before going to bed and you'll be able to brush his teeth.

At about 13 months, I started giving my son's milk about 1 hour before bedtime. He drinks it while he's playing in the livingroom. This way once we get ready for bed, he gets his teeth brushed and I don't have to worry about the milk pooling in his mouth during his sleep.

Maybe you can try this? It does require changing the bedtime routine, but it may work.

My son has all 4 front teeth that are black for "bottle rot"! since he was 3yrs old and yes its from the bottle but that was the only way for my son togo tosleep was to lay him down with it, one dentist told me topull them out and another told me tolet them fall out. My friend pulled her daughters 2 front teeth for the same thing and now she looks like bugs bunny! I know that sounds mean but now i wont pull my sons teeth in fear his teeth will look the same!! My advice is let them fallout!!

Try gradually diluting the milk with increasing amounts of water each night until it is just water.

It is really difficult to change habits that little ones have picked up, but you need to take the bull by the horns (so to speak) and make the change for them. I use a lot of herbal tea for my children - they all loved fennel tea (and it is very good for their digestion) but often prefer to drink cold rosehip tea (because of the colour) - sometimes I mix it with fresh squeezed orange or mandarin juice - yum. All year round I keep 500ml bottle of water in the door of the fridge that are refilled - Miss 4 loves being allowed to go to the fridge and help herself when she is thirsty (and it encourages her to read her own name on the label). I would assume that you already have some kind of teeth brushing routine in place morn/night - perhaps now is the time to start weaning that evening bottle - turning the tooth brushing into a reward system (even 2 year olds love gold stars that lead to a new story book etc, rather than something sweet). Did your dentist offer any flouride tablets or suggestions as to how you can improve the adult teeth when they come through? Good Luck, hope this helps.
