Is she too young?Pierced Ears

Personally, I am a grandmother and I would be concerned about infection from her active little hands. Also, there is the constant danger of her swallowing parts of them. Although ,little 2 1/2 yr. old girls look pretty with dainty pierced ears, I would not rush her from her toddler stage. Good luck enjoy her younger beauty.

I have read through all the other advice comments and the one about stick on earrings is such a great idea, I will definately be doing it with Amy when she becomes interested in earrings.

At the end of the day it is your decision as she is your daughter but please remember that they are her ears therefore it should be her choice, would you let someone take you to have your nose peiced without being consulted about it? Just something to think about.

Hi, I debated this myself with my 3 yr old but talked to my mum who told me about my cousin who got them done at 4 one day she was brushing her hair and the round back of the stud caught on to a bristle on the brush and ripped the earing out whilst trying to brush her hair. But before this incident she had to wear bandaids over her studs as she'd pull at them or just twirl them but too hard. Good luck, my mum always told me when I was 18 I could get mine done then it was 16 then 12 then after me asking and asking my mum agreed when I turned 10 and she took me - after the first ear was done I wanted to leave without getting the other one done because of the pain! Anyway there is no wrong answer . Magdalana

But really as her mother it is up to you.. I got mine done when I was 8 years old, and I have seen many children with them much younger.

I personally would wait until they ask... But that is just me. :)

I agree, you shouldn't let a 2 1/2 y.o get earrings. Sticks on earrings rule - my 5yo wears them for special occassions. A little lip gloss for a special event is good, but I would even resist giving it to her everyday.
I would leave it a little longer until she really knows what she wants thats what I did with my girls and they seem to appreciate it because they know that it is what they want not what you have forced on them.

In my opinion she is not too young but do you have the patience to teach her to look after them properly.
I am a great believer in waiting til they are older due to the fact that when I got mine done and my daughters we both got infections in the holes.
It is very painful and when they are little it is very hard for them not to touch the earrings with dirty fingers as they like to play with them.
There are some great stick on earrings so that they can change the look all the time plus clip on earrings for her to play with.
You have to keep the same pair of earrings in for 6 -8 weeks and what 2 year old wants that. They want to change them like mum does and look pretty

If you like let me know a way to contact you I will send her a sheet of stick on earrings It has about 30-40 pairs of pretty pay earrings on it.
