Unfortunately (or so i thought at the time) i couldnt' get the electric one as everyone seemed to be out of stock and i needed to begin straight away because she had thrush and i didn't want to catch as would be longer before i could get her back on the breast...  so i ended up getting the regular avent pump and it was fantastic!!  i did a bit of research before i bought it and even tho it isn't electric, it works even better than some of those that are... 

i have since passed it on to my sister and she is loving it also!!  so i definitely recommend the avent brand - very comfortable and easy to use and i found it painless...

If you are going to pump full time, a hospital grade pump like Medela is highly recommended. It will be a great investment. However, if you hare only going to pump occassionally, I would go for the less expensive ones.

But like someone said, you'll find someone unhappy even with the most recommended pump. The best you can do is what you've already done and read through reviews.  Read through the negatives and see if that negative review is relevant to your lifestyle.

I only ever used a hand pump because I wasn't returning to work and I only used it occasionally (they are not necessary in most cases unless you are going to be away from bubs for long periods) but I have been told that electric ones with adjustable speeds are good. Also look at ongoing costs like parts (tubing etc).

I have also heard good things about the avent isis IQ. Hope this helps you but I'm sure someone can help you with more firsthand experience.
