When we went from bottles to sippy cuts, they dribbled the first couple times, but when we showed them how to do it, they got it quickly. I really don't remember an issue. Going from sippy cup to regular cup was also messy-- but only for a few days (except for the occasional spill). The older child asks for a sippy cup, like her younger sisters, but given the choice between milk and no milk, she opts for the milk. Quickly.

(i hate it when i see juice in bottles) she is now 7mths and knows how to use her cup it is still used only for juice and water. you dont really need to worry about taking him off the bottle aslong as it is used for milk only and never put him to bed with it and when he's older dont let him play or walk around with it. I bought a tommee tipee cup. it has removable handle and grips on the handles also the teat of the cup is still a similar feel to a bottle teat I paid around $7-$8 at Kmart for it.

i agree with the others, just let bubs play with a cup and see what happens. i can reccomend the heinz sipper cups, you can get them with removable handles, and are designed with grips for little hands. they are a bit more expensive, but you pay for quality, and last quite a while!.

hope this helps

I was told they should only be using a cup by 12 months. I guess give it a go and see how he goes, but if you're not ready you can wait a bit longer.
