for a while i got help from centrelink as i was staying with friends and decided to go back to school, i was given Austudy but at the living away from home rate so it was about $300 per fortnight.
My lil sister is 17 and on the dole and she gets about the same

Hey there I agree with Channy, a social worker also knows how to deal with centerlink.I don't think at 18(your profile)you are entitled to a living away from home allowance.I think it would be soooo beneficial for you to finish school before a pregnancy,Motherhood is wonderful definitely however children grow up and it makes it soo much easier to reenter the workforce or study further if you have a high school education that has been completed.Good luck regards Crystal

really all i can advise to you is to book in to speak to a social worker and explain that your mother will not sign papers even though you are not living with her, there should be a way that another member of the family or third party should be able to be contacted by centrelink to tell them your situation.

Ok this is a tricky 1. But will do my best, as i 2 was in your position a few years back.

The main reason i was given for not being able to claim defacto with my partner of 18mths, was the fact that i was only 15 at the time. C'link wouldnt count my relationship because of my age. I 2 had the same problem that my parents wouldnt sign the forms for the same reason, although they really wanted to help me they said they just couldnt have it on records that they had done so. Mayb if you find out what happens if she was 2 sign. (re: would dhs get involved, what records would it be kept on & for how long, all that kind of stuff) mayb once yous both know what it involves it might make the decision easier.

have you been living in a defacto relationship with your fiancee since you moved out of home (ur m&d's)? If this is the case. you should be able to get neighbours/ friends/ relatives/ real estate agents or landlord any1 that is willing to write yous a letter stating that fact (that indeed you are in a defacto relationship and have been for sometime)

If you dont mind me asking, how old are you?

I had my daughter just after my 17th b'day. I was ingaged at the time, to what i thought was the "love of my life" well didnt that relationship go pear shaped afew yrs later, once we had both grown up and realised we wanted totally different things out of life. well except the best for our daughter. I'm not saying that your relationship will 2 end so horribly as mine. Dont get me wrong. im just saying take it slow b4 getting married and having babies (which ever comes 1st, in my case the other way around)

VERY wise move wanting to stay at school b4 having babies. comming from someone that didnt finish school. I would highly reccomend you stay at school. complete yr 12. then think about the baby thing. (that is of course you are not already pregnant?????)
