panodol and nurophen

Did you read that advice?

I just rang my doctor and he said not to ever do that because it can cause lots of complications like liver failure, dehydration and an upset tummy.

He was very very adamant that it is VERY dangerous for the child.

So if I was you I would not be doing that.

When a childs temp (especially at such a young age) rises to quickly and to usually above 39-40 they can have a febral convulsion. This is usually harmless but it can be dangerous.

I would recommend either panadol or ibuprofen every 4-6 hours as directed and if her temp doesn't go down to around 38 take her to the emergency and do not leave, though they will usually take a high temperature seriously.

Good Luck and please let us know what you do and how she is.
