Thank's for that! The way my Doctor here reacted I was a bit concerned. I'm happy to know it is normal.

I live in canberra myself and have found that the needles have changed in the past 5 years 2,4,6 all have 2 needles and 12 months theres 3 and at 18 months theres only 1 which is the new chicken pox vacc and then 2years theres 2 and at 4 theres 2 but not every state is different some at 12 months instead of 3 needles only give 2 then the drops

I was told that to have your child immunised they have to be well on the day they are seen and i was also told that they have to be free of allergies and thing. Since i have had a stay in hospital with my son he was updated and fully immunised. Now i am being told the completely different thing. funnily. Doctors have there own opinoins when it comes to things like this and they chose what they think is best. Whether or not it is the right choice for the family or not!!!

I'm sure 1 on about 2 of them and i think 2 for the others. Can't remember now as daughter is 4 now, and has had all her needles.

I'm in Q too. I was asking as I had his 4month one's done in canberra while on holiday. The Doctor mixed D.T.P, polio, Hib and Hep b into 1 needle and then the Pneumococcal in a seperate one so he only had 2 needles. I took him yesterday for his 12month one's here in Qld and mentioned to the doctor about it as he had to have 3 needles yesterday. The Doctor went off ranting that it can't be done as it is very dangerous and He has not herd of it being allowed. It is written in my book so I havn't gotten it wrong and was just wondering if it is done in other states.

Neither of my boys had it so i dont think its compulsory here in Tas unless it was made so within the last 6 months.

DTPa-hepB , Hib , OPV , Pneumococcal
4month = 3 jabs
DTPa-hepB , Hib , OPV , Pneumococcal
6month = 3 jabs
DTPa-hepB , OPV , Pneumococcal
12month = 2 jabs
hib , Measles , Mumps , Rubella , Meningococcal C

in vic:
1 at birth (hep b) this one's offered by the hospitals and you sign a form before the birth.
3 at 2 months (dtp/ipv, hib, pneumococcal)
3 at 4 months (dtp/ipv, hib, pneumococcal)
2 at 6 months (dtp/ipv, pneumococcal)
3 at 12 months (MMR, hib, meningococcal serogroup c1)
1 at 18 months (chicken pox)
2 at 4 years (dtp/ipv, pneumococcal)

Same here but im not sure how many actual injections they had. I am pretty sure there was 1 where they got 3 and the others were 2 ...

my 4 have had 2 months 4 months 6 months year and then not till the 4 year old one also the chicken pox for my 2 year old son becfause it was free for him thats in qld
