And just remember one thing ! If he is hungry he will wake! If he's not woken for the "scheduled feed" Then don't wake him! He obviously isn't hungry! just my thoughts !

My kids also loved to sleep...once they fell asleep :)
Every child is different...I would definately have a chat with the local child health nurse in your area, as well as check out other baby websites about development.
Try www.huggies.com - http://www.huggies.com or www.babycenter.com - http://www.babycenter.com for starters they are both excellent.

Strange, I was going to ask the same question tonight about my son. I think it is normal at your son's age to need a lot of sleep. My son has always been a good sleeper from 7 weeks he slept 10-12 hours through the night. He will be a year old on Sunday and he still sleeps 12 hours through the night, he will be awake for an hour, have breakfast, play for a while and then have his morning bath and will be ready for a nap again. He will sleep for about 2-3 hours. Until a month ago he would have another nap for an hour or two at around 10.30 - 11.00 am but I have managed to stop this one now. After lunch he still sleeps for another 2 hours and then bedtime is at 7.30. So all in all my son is still needing around 18 hours sleep a day.

All children are different and it is really difficult to compare them against others. We left the UK when my son was 4 months old, the other babies in my Mom's group were way ahead of my son in terms of rolling over, pushing up etc but it all evens out eventually. Enjoy the peace and time for yourself whilst your son is asleep!

Hi there, if you are really concerned, you should ask your Nurse at the local Early Childhood Centre (if you are in NSW). Mind you, Jordan must have had, or be about to have his 4 month check up? If not, just give them a quick call and voice your concern - you should have been given their number when ...

However, some babies do sleep more than others, and I wouldn't be too worried about comparing him much at this age. All babies learn and develop at their own pace, and often those that sleep a lot are having big growth spurts.
