I had no stretch marks at all from my first pregnancy (I lost 15 kilos as I was very sick and didn't really show), until they did an emergency c-section, then I had stretch marks all around the scar. My second I go a lot of stretch marks as I had a big belly. I use vitamin E moisturisers, vitamin E capsules (you can prick a hole in them & squeeze the oil out - they last for 4 days once opened and it's much cheaper) and for my c- section scar (I've had 2 now) I use Mederma. My mum bought me this when I was pregnant with number 2 for my scar as we knew I had to have another c-section and it seems to help with the stretch marks too. I am by no means a small girl, and I have my stretch marks and my hubby loves me to death. Forget about your marks and focus on the fact that your man loves YOU!

I did look at them and thought they looked awful and for a couple of days got really down about it.. must have been my hormones!!

I covered myself in bio oil, not sure if it did enough, they have faded a lot, but they are still there. I have learnt to be proud of them, they do not bother me at all now, in fact I like them as they are a constant reminder of how lucky I am to have my son.

From what you say, it appears to be more of a self-confidence, self worth issue for you (we have all been there at times I am sure!!. I am sure your partner loves you just the way you are, stretch marks and all!!!

As for stretch marks, I also have a recipe somewhere you can make yourself. I used it both times when I was pregnant and never got any stretch marks and friends of mine have used the recipe to and their stretch marks faded a lot with its use. I will dig it out and put it in the advice column.

Stretch marks don't ruin a life - look around at all the people, who have no legs, live in wheel chairs ow worse - getting on with life. Your partner iloves YOU not your bits of stretched skin. We all have flaws - oh except the touched up models in magazines! In Tibet each beautiful piece of artwork is torn or defaced a little to make it truly beautiful in it's imperfection. There is no such thing as perfection. Look in the mirror and look into your eyes - the real you - beautiful!

Most important of all, your man is with you because he loves you. He is not feeling sorry for himself, so don't worry about things on that count. All men sleep with 10's in their dreams, however they would be way out of their league. They love good old fashioned nice girls - like yourself. However, your worries about your body are real, and you are the one in your skin, so you need to be comfortable in it. You also need to accept that nobody is perfect, and that you are a great person. I have none from being pregnant, but have had them on my upper thigh and hips since I had my last growth spurt at 13. They are faded from being in the sun (not too much of course), just general swimming etc. I have never let them bother me, and nobody has ever mentioned them.

I have also heard that Bio Oil is very good, it is sold at pharmacies, so get some advice when you are there. Also, next time you are at the GP ask them about it too, and ring up some of the local beauty therapists to see what they have to say.

Here is a recipe I read about in a mag at the doctors the other day - it is meant to be good for fading lines and marks in the skin... 2 tablespoons honey, egg white, juice of 1 lemon, a tablespoon of canola oil. Whisk it all together and slap it on for a while (I missed the rest of the instructions as we were called in). Apparently it is meant to be as good as any miracle mucho expensive cream - I keep meaning to try it. I don't have Canola oil so I am going to use olive oil. If you try it, let me know how you go and I will let you know if I am suddenly glowing and glam!

Just want to say that I didn't use any cream etc during pregnancy and got stretch marks over my hips and have heaps on my boobs just from them growing as a teenager. I used to hate my body too and always look at everyone else and feel that I was not as sexy and also felt all the emotions that you are wishing that I can be sexier for my partner etc. I can only recommend that you start wearing outfits that flatter you and make you feel sexy. Not everyone can wear a bikini and I guarantee nobody is as picky as you about your body as you are.

Please don't feel sorry for your partner for being with you for he obviously has no problem with it. Just do the best you can with what you have and if you want to do the best for your body get yourself feeling good about you. Put on some make-up, do some exercise, get a massage. Hope this makes you feel a bit better. You are not alone .

Hi, I have them on my boobs from them growing to fast when I hit puberty. I used to be very self concious of them and tried every cream and potion under the sun that promised to reduce them, remove them what ever.....NOTHING works I'm afraid to say. I DID use Cocoa Butter lotion when pregnant with our daughter and didn't get any on my tummy thank fully (not that my fubbery tummy is anything to show off anyway LOL), I used it from about 5 months and I think it's the reason I didn't get any during the pregnancy. I'm afraid all they do is fade to a sort of scra-ish silvery colour with the years, they won't ever go away, they are a part of who you are now, as mine are a part of who I am. Like a too big nose, or too thin lips, or a million other things people might not be thrilled about themselves but have to live with every day, it is just so, something you have to live with. Just be grateful that they are somewhere you can hide them from the masses and you are blessed enough not to have been born with something truely awful. I have adjusted by realising how lucky I am in comparrison with what some people live with and triumph over. It is easy to look and dwell on our flaws, try looking and revelling in your qualities.
