I also started on wheetbix because mine hated farax. I would crush it up with my hand when it was dry, then pour boiling water over it till it was soggy, then add formula or breast milk to it till it was cool and runny. yummo!

They say to wait until 4-6 months, we started at 5 months. The way to know is if your baby is eating 35-40 ounces and still seems hungry you should probably start. I wouldn't start at 4 months unless he is drinking a lot. We tried to start at 4 months and it didn't work well.

Every baby is defferent. There are signs to look for. With one of mine it was very early at 2 months. He stopped sleeping and was constantly hungry and I was at wits ends and my mum said to feed him and it worked! Yet the others were after 5 months. Depends on when he is hungry!

When my daughter was 7 weeks of age she needed to have solids! Nothing i could give her would satisfy her! Not only that, she was also showing interest in solid food!
I think you need to do what you feel is right for your baby - regardless of what health organisations say!
I would start off on farex first though - cheers!

WHO (World Health Organisation) doesn't recommend solids til 6 months of age. Exclusive breastmilk is best up to 6 months. The lining of the babies stomach hasn't developed properly until 6 months and cannot tolerate solid food. I wouldn't rush, take your time.

If you feel your baby is interested in food at an earlier age, seek medical / professional advice. We started Jay on baby rice at 5 months, as we were waiting at the airport to get on a plane and he saw a man eating chips and suddenly became really interested in food.

There are quite a few really good advice articles about this on Minti, and quite a few great comments. Try looking via the search bar (find stuff) above.
