Hi, my ex husband has hep c and when he found out every one freaked out about it! We went to the special clinic for hep c at a local hospital and were given more info than we ever thought was out there! We were told back then that hep c can only be contracted through blood to blood contact for eg if your son had a cut on him somewhere and his g/f bled and the blood was to get into his cut then the chances of him contracting hep c are high! I have been tested for hep c every 2 yrs since we found out that my ex has it! To this day and i have had 8 chiuldren to him have and still do not have hep c! If you are concerned for your son get some information about hep c and just casually pass it to him to read this should put you at ease that at least you have given informatiopn to read and hopefully you too will have a better understanding about the virus! We were told that yes hep c is mopre deadlier than aids as since with tattooing etc... and they sterilize the needles etc... this does not kill the hep c virus! where as with aids apparently it does! This is why when a person goes to have any medical surgery or tattooing etc... they are asked wethere they have hep c or anything like that! Most people are honest and will say that yes they do but there are still people who do not! Do not judge this girl due to her hep c status! The risk to the baby i am not 100% sure about but again get on line and find a site with info about it! All of my children have been tested from time to time only as a precaution as i said i do not have hep c and ther father when has them or visits if he cuts himself he is very quick to get a bandaid or something to cover it up to protect not only him but any one he may come into contact wuth! Hep C is really only a problem for the carrier as it affects and attacks the liver! Ther was i am not sure if there still is a treatment not a cure for this called interferon which people may or may not eligible for depending on how badly affected they are! Hope this has helped a bit! Hugs Michelle Ifd you would like to know a bit more just minti message me and i will be more than happy to help you!!

Your son is old enough to make his own decisions and even if you don't agree with them, you need to respect that your baby has made a choice. Heart wrenching I know, but we can't make decision for them all their lives.

Have you done any research into the subject? I think you will be surprised at what you find. You can talk to a family planning advisor as they deal with families in similar situations all the time.

Just trust that he will be careful and that he will do what is right for him, the girl and the baby.
