I think the best thing for this person to do is to do what they have to, possibly ask bank if they can pay an interest only loan til they get back up on their feet....and then change to principle and interest.
Never declare bankruptcy unless you really really really need to!
I hope you can find away around this, anonymous because it is a scary thing.
