My doctor said to be off of it for about 6 months (while using other forms of contraception) before trying to get pregnant. While I was waiting, I charted my period (look into the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler). On the 5th month, we went for it and got pregnant.

While charting, I found out that I started to ovulate instantly. In reading the book though, i found that some women takes up to a year before they start ovulating and some take shorter.

I did get some spotting but then nothing. I have been to the doctor but she didn't seem too concerned. Do you think i should get a second opinion?

Hi there,

I would suggest that you see your local doctor as you really should have had a period by now. Most people should get a withdrawal bleed or some spotting when they cease using the Pill . .

Good luck with the pregnancy attempts and I hope all goes well at the doctors

Cheers Kellz

I'm 28 and was on the pill for 3 years. i really didn't think it would have this much trouble when i went onto the pill and they never tell you what happens when you go off it.
