Home births are not allowed but as it was my husbands first baby he wouldn't let me 'accidentally' go to the hospital too late hehe. We compromised and went back to NZ for the birth. My midwife was fantastic and just sat in the corner of the room (being more of a dj than anything) and let me labour with confidence in my body. She was prepared to just step in if I needed help. Great experience and lovely waterbirth. I put my birth stories on the 'birth experience' group blog yesterday if you want to read it.

If you have any specific questions or concerns, I'd be happy to discuss them with you.
