As long as your child is making steady progress, enjoys going to school and is happy working with his peers, you need not worry. Make sure that you work with your childs teacher and meet regualrly with them and and any intervention teachers that work with him, be involved with his educational progress and you will have no need to worry!

Reading and writing were all on grade level. Her writing had imporved as well.

Hi score is not accurate if you are noticing that his inteliigance in everyday life exceeds that score.

BTW 100 is an average IQ score.

In other words, Thos who fall far below the average or high above the average are considered anomoli's as the test is not meant for them. Normally low test scores can come from a reading disability. My brother for example has a mild autism and scored very high, he is functioning but is mildy retarted and did not do well in school. My sister who in the same grade as him tested average but below him did very well in school and went to college etc.

For example (completely hypathetical) if your son is mildy dyslexic, he would probably score low on the test, but he can function just like you or me in life and can even do very well in school given the right tools. Some of the wealthiest and more intellegent people I know are dyslexic and scored very low on their IQ tests.

I wouldn't worry about the IQ test because it probably wasn't meant for your son. I would you I would suggest testing him for learning disabilities. Then again depending on his age, if he is still under ten, I wouldn't worry at all because children mature at all different rates.  We all know girls tend mature much faster than boys. If your son is in highschool i might tend to worry a bit more but by that age any mental disabilities should be mildly apparent.

Don't stress about the numbers, if he is loving life, then he is full of intelligence, just got to find the areas where his interests lie, and watch him take off!
