mazda are meant to be one of the best as far as being mechanic on the road  just a thought. worth considering

As for the car, I have a nissan pulsar 4 door. They drive very well and don't feel like a big car and the good thing is they have heaps of boot space. I go away a fair bit and i can manage to fit a pram, porta cot and about 4 bags in it.

But go to a baby store and have a push around with some and a play to see how easy/ difficult they are to put up and down and how light they are to lift. Cause you will have to lift it to get it into the car.

OK as to the car. I found when looking at cars, it is not the arrival etc of the bub, it is when they start getting a little older that they take up heaps of room. I am talking like 6 months on. So you want a car that has at least 4 doors. You generally need to fit a nappy bag and a pram in the boot. Groceries if you are shopping with bub. Toys if you are visiting someone who doesn't have kids or no kids that young. Portacot maybe as well if you are visiting rellies etc.

I had a box of spare stuff in the boot as well. Extra nappies, wipes, a bottle, teething rings, toys, spare clothes, towel. This was so that if we were out somewhere for longer than expected, or if we had some sort of accident (Nappy wise I am meaning) I had extra supplies with me. I also had a stash of stuff at homes that I visited regularly. Like at my mums place, she had a bag of nappies, wipes, clothes, toys, tin of formula etc so that if I went there, I didn't actually need to take a nappy bag with me. It was all there. With my sister it was clothes and nappies. I also found it was good to include a change of clothes for myself - just in case.

Hopefully this has given you a few ideas and things to think about. Take your time.

if you go to www.rollaclub.com you can get some great advice and maybe someone might be able to point you in the right direction to a good car in your area. i think your not from WA i know you are a aussie but. if you post that you are a friend of chrisandliz someone should help you.

i strongly sugest that you do go for a toyota for a few reasons. they are reliable, they keep their sale value, the parts are cheap to get and easy to fix, they run forever.

A lot of smaller cars these days have larger boots but I love my Commodore as the boot is HUGE and I don't need to worry that I'll be able to fit it all in.

I dont use my baby carrier now she is 10 months old and its hard with a 2 year old. We brought a Hyundai Trijet look them up BEST CAR EVER. Its a people mover and great for 2 kids and if you want to fit more kids in or even just take out the back seats or fold them to put pram in. We have managed to have us two in front two kids then two adults in the back seats and still just squeese our big pram in. Smaller cars are good cheaper on petrol but i love our car best thing ever especailly handy as we are going down south in a couple of weeks and it will cart everything we need.
