My second, and exclusively breastfed baby used only the Pigeon bottles and teats with the peristeltic nipple.

Hope this helps.

I started with a Pidgeon one as it was cheaper but I wasnt getting much milk, then one day Caitlin had a BIG sleep while I was at a friends and I just had to express, and the Avent pumped out so much milk!
My hubbys parents ended up buying it for me as they figured they want 3 grandkids so a new one will go the distance! LOL! But you can get them off ebay or from the trading post as well.
I cant recommend the pump enough. We use those bottles as well,a) they came with the pump but they were also talked up as being the best by a couple of chemists and the random lady who was standing next to me when I asked at the chemist! LOL! We like them, still use them just change the teat size as they grow.
Unfortnately I cant help you with amounts as Caitlin self weined at 7 months but I think it is going to be different for each child and depending on how much food he eats as well.
Good luck!

Ive always heard of the advent breastpump to be best.. As for bottles, Im not planning on breastfeeding so i wanted bottles that most represent the nipple. I bought tommee tippee bottles, This is what it says about them.

The new tommee tippee teat is made in a softer touch silicone that when filled with liquid is warm and supple just like a mums breast. The super sensitive anti colic valve on the base of the teat has been designed for optimum venting of the bottle, ensuring an uninterupted and comfortable feed for your baby with less risk of wind trouble.

So i havnt as yet used these bottles, but they sound really good. I have normal bottles for when bubs is older but i have alot of these ones aswell and 4 were included with my tommee electric steriliser and they sound like great bottles. A little expensive, i think around $8 each.

Hi! I had a pigeon one and an avent one - I liked the pigeon one more (had to buy it to attach to the electric pump when i hired one) but I think both were ok (was a while ago now). The chemist told me the Avent bottles were closest to a nipple, but the speech therapist said it didn't matter so long as they had a long teat. When breastfeeding they take the nipple right to the back of the mouth to suck, so they need a long teat and a small head to replicate that (does that make sense?). I guess as far as volume - you don't get as much expressing as from a feed, so go with as much as you can express, for as long as you have the patience to do it! I used to only be able to express 25ml at a time, so for me to make up a whole feed, I had to express multiple times - very frustrating!!
