I found chocolate milk (made with cadbury bourneville cocoa and a little sugar mixed in boiling water) helped. LOL I would make 2litres a day and keep in in the freezer and just constantly sip on it.

Green apples and green grapes seemed to work, as did plain pasta witha little finely chopped garlic sauteed in smidgen of butter or oil.

If you find any never fail ideas maybe you should post them as an advice article!

If she likes tea, a little fresh ginger grated into the pot gives it a nice warm flavour & will help. For some reason the ground ginger spice doesn't seem to work as well.
First thing in the morning is the worst. Try having something that is small and easy to eat first thing. Don't drink water on an empty stomach. That always made me throw up. It's weird cos when you dont eat anything you feel sick so you need to eat something to relieve it a bit but if you eat the wrong thing it makes you feel even sicker.

Morning sickness makes absolutely no sense at all. Even smell use to make me throw up.

It's really a matter of finding foods that do make you feel better not worse.

On my list were: vegemite on toast, chocolate milk, apple and blackcurrant juice, ginger beer.

with my 6th was the worst, I wasnt even holding down any food and was vomiting green bile on an empty stomach. My doctor just happened to be an acupuncturist so he just told me to lie down and he stuck a needle in each of my ankles. At that point I was ready to try anything. He told me I would hold food down that night.

And I did! It wasnt totally gone but it took the edge off the sickness so that it was bearable and I at least didnt vomit up what I ate. I'm not sure if it's psychological or what but it definately worked for me. Didn't cost me anything as the Dr Bulk Billed. I had to go to the surgery every day for about 3 weeks then I felt well enough to not have it done.

I hope you gf feels better soon. It is such a horrible thing.
