The rule with anything in pregnancy is moderation. Coffee is the same. I believe I read somewhere that 1-2 cups a day is actually good for you, especially if it is the new blend with unroasted coffee beans (more antioxidants). I also read that coffee should be milky to help the body process it better.

I can't remember the sites i found, but they mentioned that caffeine has been linked to higher chances of miscarriage and also lower birthweight babies. I believe it's in a "could-be-risky" kind of category. Everything nowadays simply hasn't been tested enough to determine the full effects.

Caffeine is one substance (drug! lol) that DOES cross the placenta and so I figure that limiting it as much as poss is best. I'd view it as a treat and make sure that when you do have it, you have a nice one from a fancy cafe and focus on really enjoying it ;P Just coz you can't have much doesn't mean it can't be really good!! :P

hehe, hope that helps!

I drank coffee when i was pregnant and didn't have any problems. Just don't go overboard, limit yourself to say one a fortnight or something like that, make it something special, a treat, not just a habit!
All the best

I think it is ok. In my experience i drank one cup of coffee each day throughout both my pregnancies and i had no trouble and the kids were healthy and fine when they were born.
