I have been told that there is one thing, even once bubs has stopped feeding, that can keep your milk going, and that is sex.  More precisely, the hormones that your body releases during sex.  These hormones are 'feel good'hormones, and similar to those you have while breastfeeding (the ones that cause the milk to let down and give that overwhelming sense of love towards your baby).  The hormones make you feel good, and because you have finished breastfeeding, your body is still learning the difference between the hormones from the milk let down and the hormones released during sex.

Confused yet? lol.  Basically, your body is going through mass confusion and doesn't know which way it should be going.  A completely normal thing to happen given all the added stress it has been under for the last 29 months.

WanderingPeanut I definitely think this is normal.  I breast fed my son for only 6 weeks (couldn't go longer for medical reasons) but I was still producing milk for months and months afterwards.  I thought it was never going to end!  As one of the other ladies already mentioned, it was worse in the shower.  I asked my midwife about this ... Izzy It took about the same time for my milk to dry up with my first after he weaned at 12 months.  But my breasts were never full filling. The only time I ever noticed it was in the shower.   Your breasts will dry up eventually, I wouldn't worry about it. If you're having other problems like pain, etc, then I ...
