I agree sounds like night terrors....I have my middle cherub doing this as well at the moment., she is almost 2...She wakes the whole house so then I have 3 cherubs to try and re settle....Argghhh is what I say at 3 in the morning when they are all going....

I have to settle her by pats and sssshhhhs...but I don't do it until she is fully back to sleep only until she has calmed herself down. So that she also learns to self settle the last bit (for now) (then I will leave her quicker and quicker) but sometimes they just need reassurance that you are still around and all is ok...

I make my pats like a heart beat...(do dum, do dum, I start out quite fast and firm and then slowly start to slow it down and make it more gentle until I can stop altogether) I have found that that works best with my kids, it is an instant soothing thing for them, I think they remember the feel of a heart beat because it was with them from the womb...

It doesn't mean anything has happened it is just one of those stages I think, when they actually start to realize in their sub conscious that they are dreaming, and the dream may not nessessarily be scary but they have not been conscious of the dreams before this point.

I hope the move goes well and things settle down real soon.

Cheers Spinnychic

I remember my boydoing the same thing when we moved, he was about 1, has he seen your new house?? if you can i would show him where his new bedroom will be and your new bedroom. Its totally normal for any kid to feel anxious when they see everything be put away. Good luck!
